If you’ve been putting off filling out your TU convocation form, this is your reminder: time is almost up. Tribhuvan University’s Office of the Controller of Examinations opened the online application window for the 52nd Convocation back on Ashwin 1, 2083 (September 17, 2026), and it’s set to close on Kartik 12, 2083 (October 29, 2026). That means eligible graduates have only a day or two left to submit their TU convocation online form before the portal locks them out for an entire year.

For thousands of students across Nepal who finished their bachelor's, master's, M.Phil., or Ph.D. programs recently, this isn’t just paperwork—it's the difference between holding an official degree certificate and being stuck with a temporary provisional one. So if you’ve graduated and haven’t applied yet, here’s exactly what you need to know about the TU 52nd convocation before the clock runs out.

What Is the TU Convocation Form, Exactly?

The TU convocation form is the official online application that Tribhuvan University graduates must submit to participate in the university’s annual convocation ceremony—the formal event where degrees are conferred. Without submitting this form and completing payment, you won’t be eligible to collect your original degree certificate, gown, or scarf, and you won’t be included in this year’s ceremony.
You can find the form here: Click here

Think of it less as a “nice to have” and more as the final administrative step between finishing your coursework and actually holding your degree in hand.

TU 52nd Convocation: Key Dates You Can’t Miss

Here’s a quick snapshot of the TU 52nd Convocation date details that matter most right now:

Detail	Information
Event	TU 52nd Convocation Ceremony (2083)
Application Start	Ashwin 1, 2083 (September 17, 2026)
Application Deadline	Kartik 12, 2083 (October 29, 2026)
Mode of Application	100% online
Official Portal	student.tuexam.edu.np

Notice how tight that window is closing. The TU convocation online form 2083 has been open for roughly six weeks, and once it shuts, there’s no manual or offline backup process—you'll simply have to wait for the 53rd convocation next year.

Who’s Eligible to Fill the TU Convocation Form?

Not every graduate automatically qualifies. TU has set a specific eligibility window tied to when you received your transcript, not just when you finished your exams. You’re eligible if:

You passed your bachelor's, master's, M.Phil., or Ph.D. exam under either the semester or annual system
Your official transcript was issued between Ashadh 1, 2082, and Jestha 31, 2083 (June 15, 2025 to June 14, 2026)
You haven’t already registered for a previous convocation under the same degree

If your transcript falls outside that date range, you won’t be able to complete the 52 convocation TU application this cycle—you'd need to wait for the next one.

Documents You’ll Need Before You Start

One mistake students repeatedly make is starting the form without having scanned documents ready, which eats up precious time during a deadline rush. Before logging in, gather:

A recent MRP (passport)-size photo with a white background
A clear scanned copy of your citizenship certificate
A scanned copy of your academic transcript

Keep these as clean PDF or JPEG files—blurry or cropped scans are one of the most common reasons applications get flagged or delayed.

TU 52nd Convocation Fee Structure

The total cost depends on your academic level. Here’s the full breakdown from the official notice:

Academic Level	Convocation & Certificate Fee	Gown/Scarf Deposit (Refundable)	Total Payment
Bachelor’s	NPR 3,000	NPR 2,500	NPR 5,500
Master’s & M.Phil.	NPR 3,500	NPR 2,500	NPR 6,000
Ph.D.	NPR 4,000	NPR 2,500	NPR 6,500

A few things worth knowing:

Out of the NPR 2,500 gown/scarf deposit, NPR 500 is a non-refundable maintenance charge; the remaining NPR 2,000 is refunded after you return the gown.
You can bring up to two guests to the ceremony for NPR 400 per guest.
An optional certificate folder with the TU logo costs an extra NPR 500.

Pay using your own personal bank account. TU has made it clear it won’t take responsibility if a refund fails because payment came from someone else’s account.

How to Fill the TU Convocation Online Form (Step-by-Step)

Here’s the process from start to finish:

Go to the official portal at student.tuexam.edu.np
Select the 52nd Convocation Online Application option
Enter your roll number or registration number to pull up your eligibility details
Fill in your personal information, academic details, contact number, and bank account information
Select your preferred convocation center—this choice is final and can’t be changed later
Upload your photo, citizenship certificate, and transcript scan
Pay the fee online through Nepal Bank Ltd. or Global IME Bank Ltd.
Download and print your receipt, transaction ID, and application summary as a PDF for your records

That last step matters more than people realize—you'll need these printed documents later when collecting your gown, scarf, and degree certificate.

Choosing Your Convocation Center

TU has set up regional centers across all seven provinces so students don’t need to travel long distances:

Bagmati Province Center (mandatory for M.Phil., Ph.D., toppers, and medal recipients)
Koshi Province Center
Madhesh Province Center
Gandaki Province Center
Lumbini Province Center
Karnali Province Center
Sudurpashchim Province Center

Pick carefully. Once submitted, your center selection on the 52nd convocation online form cannot be edited—not even with a request to the exam office.

Why This Form Matters More Than Most Students Realize

If you’re planning to apply abroad for further studies or jobs, this isn’t a formality you can skip. Most foreign universities, visa authorities (like UKVI, Canadian IRCC, or US consular offices), and credential evaluation bodies such as WES or VETASSESS require your original degree certificate, not a provisional one. That certificate only becomes available after you’ve completed your convocation registration and attended—or been processed through—the ceremony.

Missing this year’s Tu 52nd convocation online form PDF deadline means waiting a full year for the next cycle, which can push back study-abroad plans, job applications, or document attestation through Nepal’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

What Happens After You Submit?

Once your application and payment go through:

Save and print every generated PDF document
Watch for a follow-up notice from the Office of the Controller of Examinations announcing the exact ceremony date, venue, and gown distribution schedule for your chosen province
Bring your original payment receipt and return voucher slip when collecting your gown and degree folder

Last year’s 51st convocation ceremony was held on Poush 10, 2082, so expect a similar gap between the application deadline and the actual event.

Final Takeaway

The TU convocation form window is genuinely closing within days, and there’s no indication TU will extend it this cycle. If you’ve graduated and your transcript falls within the eligible date range, don’t wait until the last few hours—payment gateways tend to slow down under heavy traffic right before deadlines, and a failed transaction at the last minute could cost you an entire year. Head to the official portal, double-check your documents, and get your TU 52nd convocation application submitted today.
